Unleashing the Potential of Mining in the Sultanate

"Our industrialists have to exploit the country's natural resources and raw materials to be manufactured locally in order to support the national economy, as this will lead to further exploration activities, which in turn will provide job opportunities across the country and achieve prosperity for Oman."
The late leader Sultan Qaboos bin Said

Chairman's Message

Sultanate of Oman has some of the richest and most diverse mineral deposits in the world. In fact, our country has a history of copper mining dating back to 5000 years. Today, MDO continues to build on Oman's rich mining heritage, utilizing all the resources available to create a sustainable future for Oman, while taking into consideration Oman's 2040 vision laid out by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik - May God Protect Him.

MDO's primary role is to invest in exploration activities, develop upstream and downstream projects targeting multiple strategic minerals, and attract reputed national and international mining and mineral development players to drive the commercialization of Oman's prodigious mineral resources.

Sustainability is an integral part of MDO's vision and values. The Company is committed to engaging efficiently with the community, managing its resources safely, and having a transparent relationship with its stakeholders, business partners, and communities in which it operates.
